Meet The Optometrists

Dr. Dean Nisbett

Dr. Nisbett graduated from University of Waterloo in 1981 with his Doctor of Optometry Degree. He has practiced in Goderich and Clinton since graduation. Dr. Nisbett has expanded his education to include a sub-specialty in vision therapy for the treatment of binocular vision disorders, perceptual vision disorders and visual disorders that result from traumatic brain injury. When he is not practicing optometry you will find him Sailing on his boat “Necessity”, riding his motorcycle, snowmobiling or traveling the world in search of historical knowledge.

Dr. Paul Padfield O.D. F.A.A.O

Dr. Padfield Graduated from University of Waterloo in 1983 with his Doctor of Optometry degree. He also is a Fellow of the American Academy Of Optometry. Dr. Padfield has been actively involved in the Profession by serving on various Committees and the Council of the College of Optometrists of Ontario for many years. He was President of the College for three years. He also has worked with the Canadian Examiners in Optometry. Dr. Padfield has practiced in Goderich and Clinton since graduation. He was originally from Rodney Ontario.
When Dr. Padfield is not practicing optometry he can be found playing guitar, keyboards and singing with local bands “The Full Nelsons” and “The Homers”. He is also interested in scuba diving and enjoys basketball and running. He is married to Wendy and has four children.”

Dr. David Weaver O.D. B.Sc.

Dr. Weaver graduated from University of Waterloo in 1991 with his Doctor of Optometry degree and Bachelor of Science Degree. After working in the Goderich office while attending Optometry school Dr. Weaver joined the practice full time. He was born and raised in Port Albert , just north of Goderich. When he is not practicing Optometry he can be found spending time with his family or playing guitar with the local band The Full Nelsons and The Blacklist Social. He also enjoys Crossfit, fly fishing and golf. He is married to Mary Lynn and has one child..

Dr. Simon Taylor O.D. B.Sc.

Dr. Taylor graduated from University of Waterloo in 2001 with his Doctor of Optometry degree and Bachelor of Science Degree. After graduation, Dr. Taylor joined Huron Optometric Centres and practiced in the Goderich and Clinton offices. He now also practices in our office in Wingham where he spent his formative years.. When he is not practicing Optometry he can be found running his kids to the ice rink or baseball diamond, or singing and playing guitar with the local bands The Full Nelsons and The Blacklist Social. He is also active in the community and coaches Ringette and baseball..

Dr. Kelly Kuiper B.Sc. O.D.

Dr. Kuiper graduated from University of Waterloo in 2007 with her Bachelor of Science degree and the New England College of Optometry in 2011 with her Doctor of Optometry degree. After graduation Dr. Kuiper joined Huron Optometric Centres and practices in the Goderich, Clinton and Wingham offices Kelly was born and raised in Clinton.

Dr. Erin Brunk B.Sc O.D.

Dr. Brunk graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2018 with her Doctor of Optometry degree. Prior to this, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Guelph. After working at Huron Optometric Centres while attending Optometry school, Dr. Brunk now practices in the Goderich, Clinton and Wingham offices. She was born and raised in Goderich and is excited to be back in her hometown. When she is not practicing Optometry, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, being active and helping with a local ringette team
